MILLER, Adarene Akers - Putnam

Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Chastain funeral home for Mrs. Adarene Akers Miller, 85, who died suddenly Tuesday morning from a cerebral hemorrhage at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nathan Call. Mrs. Miller had been in poor health for several years. Burial was made in Roachdale cemetery. Mrs. Miller was born near Palestine May 19, 1856, the daughter of Frank and Sarah Wilson Akers. She was married October 2, 1877, to Jason R. Miller. Practically her entire lifetime was spent in and near Roachdale. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist church. Besides the daughter at whose home she died, Mrs. Miller is survived by another daughter Mrs. Earnest Thompson; two brothers; Jap and Dade Akers of Lebanon, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.   --- thanks so much to Marilyn Walker for sharing her Roachdale Times obituary collection - greatly appreciated.
